Will Redford, a 21-year-old racing driver, has discussed his "unconventional" entry into motor-racing, which began with computer games during the Covid-19 lockdown. Redford, originally from Warrington, said his father introduced him to racing simulation programmes.

He told BBC Essex's Sport Extra show that he "got right into it" due to having "nothing else to do" during the lockdown. After gaining experience in virtual racing, Redford sought to drive a real car, achieving his breakthrough through a scholarship competition.

Redford, a race winner at the GT Challenge de las Américas last month, joined Bourne HPP in Witham, Essex. He described racing a Mercedes-AMG GT3 in Guyana for the team as "the biggest opportunity" in his career, stating that Terry Radbourne, CEO of Bourne HPP, hired him after they won the event.
