The 2027 World Rally Championship (WRC) calendar has been unveiled by the FIA and the sport's promoters, featuring an extended 15-event schedule that includes the inaugural Rally Scotland. This gravel event in Aberdeenshire is set to take place from 3-7 October and will be the 12th round of the season.
The inclusion of Rally Scotland marks the return of a WRC round to the United Kingdom for the first time since 2019. It will also serve as a home event for the new World Rally champion, Elfyn Evans, who secured his title in Sardinia on Sunday. Evans is the first UK WRC champion in 25 years, joining Colin McRae and Richard Burns.
The 2027 season will kick off with Rallye Monte-Carlo from 21-24 January. Other new additions to the calendar include a USA round, which will be the first points-paying WRC event in the USA since 1988. Rally de Portugal will not feature in 2027 but is in talks for a 2028 return. The season will also see new WRC27 regulations aimed at limiting costs and reducing horsepower, alongside the return of Ford as a manufacturer in collaboration with M-Sport.
