Newcastle fought back to secure a draw against Bournemouth today, with substitute Jacob Ramsey netting an 88th-minute equaliser. This late goal denied Bournemouth their first win under new manager Marco Rose.
Bournemouth initially took the lead in the ninth minute through Marcus Tavernier. Alex Scott's shot was deflected into Tavernier's path, who then finished past Lukas Hornicek. Newcastle manager Matthias Jaissle's appeal for a foul in the build-up was dismissed after a VAR review.
Despite Bournemouth's strong performance, including an own goal from Malick Thiaw, Newcastle's Harvey Barnes pulled one back before half-time. Newcastle's new £51m signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo made his debut in the second half, before Ramsey's late strike levelled the score.
