  • Rangers captain Lawrence Shankland suffered a hamstring injury early in the game, with fears of a significant layoff.

Rangers secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Motherwell at Ibrox today, extending their Premiership winning streak to three games. The decisive goal came in the 12th minute from striker Ryan Naderi, who capitalised on a mistake by Motherwell goalkeeper Alex Paulsen.

Despite the win, the mood at Ibrox was tempered by an early injury to captain Lawrence Shankland. Shankland was forced off in the eighth minute with a hamstring issue, prompting fears from manager Derek McInnes that the injury could be similar in significance to one that sidelined him for two months earlier in 2026. Shankland is scheduled for a scan on Monday.

Motherwell dominated possession and created several chances, but Rangers proved more clinical. Kim Min-su missed a first-half penalty, and debutant Kevin Kelsy also passed up opportunities to extend Rangers' lead.

In other Premiership action, Dundee United snatched a late 1-1 draw against Falkirk, while Kilmarnock earned their first point of the season with a 0-0 stalemate at Aberdeen.
