Rangers have confirmed they will allocate 300 tickets to Celtic for the League Cup quarter-final at Ibrox on 13 September.

  • Rangers will provide Celtic with 300 tickets for the League Cup quarter-final on 13 September.
  • The decision follows fan disorder at a previous match on 8 March and the publication of the Blackbourne Report.
  • Ticketing arrangements for the Scottish Premiership fixture at Celtic Park on 20 September are yet to be confirmed.

Rangers have confirmed they will provide Celtic with 300 tickets for the League Cup quarter-final at Ibrox on 13 September. This decision comes after a Scottish Cup match between the two clubs at Ibrox on 8 March was affected by fan disorder.

Earlier on Friday, the Scottish FA announced that both clubs would have to play their next home Scottish Cup games behind closed doors. Rangers stated that the Blackbourne Report, the events of 8 March, and their assessment of current risk have informed their planning for the upcoming fixture. They cited matchday safety as their top priority.

Rangers indicated that a reduced allocation allows for greater individual ticket-holder accountability, stronger ingress controls, enhanced segregation, and additional safeguards. They also noted further pitch invasions involving Celtic supporters since 8 March. Rangers stated they had been in discussions with Celtic regarding proposals for a sustainable way forward, but Celtic's response did not address concerns around accountability and deterrence.

Rangers will travel to Celtic Park for a Scottish Premiership fixture on 20 September, and the ticketing arrangements for that match are still to be confirmed. Away fans returned to league Old Firm games in 2025 after a period without travelling support.

What this means for you: If you are a Celtic supporter planning to attend the League Cup quarter-final at Ibrox on 13 September, only 300 tickets will be made available by Rangers.
