Chicago singer-songwriter Ravyn Lenae has released her new album, 'Blue Island'. The album is described as an "original, idiosyncratic pop album" that features a collage of styles.
The album's opener, 'Handle', begins with a pop chorus, followed by feedback and a distorted electric guitar arpeggio. Another track, 'Familiar Dreams', is retro pop-soul. Lenae's inspirations for the album reportedly include Santigold, Janet Jackson, Blondie, the Cranberries, the Sundays, and Martin Rev.
The album contains 14 tracks, including an acoustic duet with Dominic Fike titled 'Reputation'. Other tracks include 'Never Let Me Go', 'Babygirl', 'In & Out', 'Potential', 'Saturday Night', and the closer 'Let Us In'.
