British actor Ray Winstone has claimed he was forced to intervene when a director inappropriately touched a female co-star on set. Winstone, 69, known for his role in Netflix's The Gentlemen, stated the unnamed director "abused his power" by groping the woman while demonstrating a scene.
Winstone recalled telling the director, "Don't you dare do that," and said the situation "was dealt with." He noted that while such issues might have been handled with a "slap" in the past, "It's a different world today."
In The Gentlemen, a spin-off from Guy Ritchie's 2020 film, Winstone plays Bobby Glass, a west London gangster. The second season of The Gentlemen is scheduled for release on Netflix on 3 September.
