Matthew Renshaw's innings of 190 helped Australia recover and establish dominance against South Africa in the first Test in Durban. Batting at number five, Renshaw's score was his first Test century in nine years.
Renshaw batted through two extended sessions, eventually being the last man out. His performance, which included staunch support from the lower order, saw Australia reach a total of 390.
Nathan Lyon was part of a 134-run ninth-wicket partnership, Australia's second-highest for that wicket. South Africa ended the second day on 27 for one, trailing Australia by 363 runs.
