Rupert Lowe, leader of Restore Britain and MP for Great Yarmouth, refused to classify King Charles as a "white Briton" during an interview on the BBC's Today programme. The discussion arose as presenter Nick Robinson questioned Lowe about a Restore Britain forecast that "white Britons will become a minority by 2063".
Robinson noted that the forecast's definition of a "white Briton" requires both parents to have been born in the UK. Given that King Charles's father, Prince Philip, was born in Corfu, Greece, Robinson asked Lowe if he considered the King a "white Briton" under this definition.
Lowe responded, "Well, many people have different interpretations of that, Nick. I mean, we can split hairs." He further stated, "The experience of what we’re talking about is quite clear and I think most British people, if you speak to them, would agree." Lowe also mentioned he had intended to discuss an economic paper and issues with Nigel Farage.
