The hard-right Restore Britain party has received a significant donation of £500,000 from IT entrepreneur Simon Galbraith. Rupert Lowe, an MP who founded Restore Britain after leaving Reform UK, announced on Tuesday that Mr Galbraith had made two separate donations of £250,000 this year.
Mr Galbraith stated that his company, Cade Hill Investments, provided the funds because he believes "most British people sense Britain’s decline." He added that he thinks "if Restore win power, I think it will spark a British renaissance."
While the sum is smaller than donations received by Nigel Farage's Reform UK, this donation could enhance Restore Britain's capacity to challenge Reform UK from the right in specific regions. The party has previously indicated it would field a candidate against Mr Farage if he faces a second by-election in Clacton.
