Estate agents are being offered guidance by Rightmove to prepare for proposed changes to the homebuying and selling process. These reforms are expected to include a greater emphasis on upfront property information.
Rightmove will host a webinar on Wednesday 23 September 2026, from 10am to 11am, focusing on the Government’s Home Buying and Selling Reform programme. The proposed changes include the introduction of upfront sales packs and digital property logbooks, which would increase the amount of property information available earlier in transactions across England and Wales.
The webinar, titled "Property Information Revolution," will feature Sally Holdway, founder of Home Owner’s Passport. It will cover how agents can identify potential transaction problems sooner, prepare properties for sale, and understand what constitutes a transaction-ready property.
Jason Charles, head of education at Rightmove, stated that the government's proposed reforms are designed to create a faster, more transparent process for buyers. He added that agents will need to understand how to spot potential issues earlier to prevent avoidable delays.
