Australian golf talent Jessica Bang has tragically passed away at the age of 18 following a brain haemorrhage. Bang, who had already secured her first professional win in just her fifth start, collapsed on 1 August while preparing for a tournament in Thailand.
She was immediately taken to a Bangkok hospital for emergency brain surgery and remained in intensive care for almost two weeks before her death on Thursday. The WPGA Tour of Australasia described Bang, who turned professional at the close of 2025, as an "outstanding young talent."
Family members, writing on a GoFundMe page, expressed their heartbreak and stated that the funds raised would go towards her medical expenses. Bang had recently qualified for her rookie season in the WPGA and won the Queensland Amateur in 2025.
