Royal Caribbean has cancelled several US sailings scheduled for its 2027 season, affecting voyages aboard the Navigator of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas. The cruise line confirmed to People that these ships are being redeployed to new destinations as part of its expansion in the Asia-Pacific region for the 2027-28 season.
The affected cruises were originally planned to depart from Los Angeles and visit ports in Mexico. Royal Caribbean stated that itinerary updates are made as necessary to accommodate scheduling, port agreements, and other operational considerations.
The Navigator of the Seas is set to operate in Asia year-round from October 2026 through October 2027, offering shorter two- to five-night cruises around Southeast Asia, including destinations in Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand. It will also offer a 12-night voyage from Tokyo to Singapore. Bookings for these itineraries opened on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Ovation of the Seas will be repositioned to Australia for the 2027-28 season, sailing from Brisbane starting in November 2027. Its planned trips include four-night sailings to Airlie Beach and three- to eight-night cruises around Australia and the surrounding region.
This is not the first instance of Royal Caribbean scrapping US sailings for fleet redeployment. In March, over 20 cruises aboard the Freedom of the Seas for summer 2027 were cancelled when the ship was redeployed to Southampton, England, for the 2027 season.
