Rumours of a 'Twin Peaks' video game emerge after Steam data leak

Fans are speculating about a 'Twin Peaks' video game after placeholder achievements for an unannounced title were reportedly found in a Steam data leak. A producer for the series allegedly confirmed a game is "coming out eventually."

  • Placeholder Steam achievements for an unannounced 'Twin Peaks' game were reportedly uncovered by dataminers.
  • Twin Peaks producer Sabrina Sutherland allegedly stated, "There is a game that will be coming out eventually."
  • Series co-creator Mark Frost confirmed last year that he had not been approached about a series reboot and that he and David Lynch owned the property.

Speculation about a video game inspired by David Lynch's 'Twin Peaks' has intensified among fans following a reported data leak from the game platform Steam. Earlier this week, it was reported that a change in Steam settings allowed dataminers to view achievements for numerous unreleased titles.

Among the unannounced games reportedly revealed, a Reddit user claimed to have found placeholder Steam achievements for a 'Twin Peaks' game. Following this, another fan stated they contacted 'Twin Peaks' producer Sabrina Sutherland, who allegedly replied, "There is a game that will be coming out eventually."

This is not the first time a 'Twin Peaks' video game has been rumoured; a report three years ago also suggested an adaptation was in the works, though nothing was officially confirmed at the time. The prospect of a game has divided the fanbase, particularly after the passing of series creator David Lynch and the mixed reception to a 2019 VR experience.

Last year, 'Twin Peaks' co-creator Mark Frost told NME that he had not been approached about a series reboot. He also stated that he and Lynch owned the property and had a "recipe" for a potential fourth season, but he was unsure what would happen after Lynch's death.
