A heavy Russian missile bombardment killed at least six people and wounded dozens in Ukraine’s capital and its surrounding region overnight, authorities stated on Thursday. Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that the missile attack struck residential areas and warehouses.
City military authorities reported that the attack damaged residential buildings, a medical facility, and an educational institution, resulting in five deaths and 23 injuries within Kyiv. In the Brovary district of the broader Kyiv region, one man was killed and another wounded, according to regional governor Tymur Tkachenko. An industrial facility in Brovary was also damaged.
Ukraine’s air force had previously issued a warning about Russian Kalibr cruise missiles heading towards the capital, passing over the regional village of Kagarlyk.
