Actor Ryan Reynolds surprised fans at San Diego Comic-Con by secretly wandering the convention floor in a Deadpool costume, posing for photos with dozens of attendees who remained unaware of his true identity.
Reynolds spent the day disguised as Jeanpool, a grey-and-blue variant of Deadpool from the Marvel comics, blending in with other cosplayers. He later dropped his disguise during Marvel Studios’ Hall H presentation for the forthcoming film, Avengers: Doomsday.
During the presentation, after being spotted by Robert Downey Jr, Reynolds stepped up to the microphone as Jeanpool and attempted to pitch Deadpool for a role in the film. He thanked fans on social media, stating, "No handlers, no security, no ropes. What a gift."
Reynolds also recently confirmed that another Deadpool film is in development, drawing on "really deep cuts" from comic storylines he believes are "missing from the movies."
