Three-time US Open men's doubles champions Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram have knocked out last year's winners Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos to reach the semi-finals. The reunited pair, who won together in 2021, 2022, and 2023 before splitting in 2024 and re-forming this year, secured a 6-4 6-4 victory against the second seeds.
They are set to face 2024 finalists Kevin Krawietz and Tim Putz in the last four on Thursday. Salisbury, from Britain, and his American partner Ram, showed strong form in their quarter-final match.
In the other half of the draw, Briton Henry Patten, playing alongside Finnish partner Harri Heliovaara, also advanced to the semi-finals. The Wimbledon champions and top seeds saved three match points during their 6-7 (7-9) 7-6 (7-3) 6-2 triumph over seventh seeds Manuel Guinard and Guido Andreozzi at Flushing Meadows.
Patten's next opponent will be fellow Briton Neal Skupski, provided Skupski and American Christian Harrison overcome Italian pair Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori in their remaining quarter-final match.
Meanwhile, in the women's doubles, top seeds Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend are one win away from completing a career Grand Slam together. They defeated Diana Shnaider and Elise Mertens 6-0 7-6 (10-8) and will compete in Friday's final against American duo Robin Montgomery and Ashlyn Krueger.
