Samsung has launched its new top folding phone for 2026, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. This model is the first in Samsung's folding phone line to carry the "Ultra" moniker, featuring a larger battery and enhanced cameras within a thin, light, book-style foldable design.

The device, which costs from £1,899, builds on the Z Fold 7 and is positioned above the new passport-shaped Z Fold 8. It maintains a similar physical form to its predecessors, weighing 215g and measuring 8.9mm thick when closed.

Key internal upgrades include the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and a battery with 13.6% more capacity, offering around two days of usage. The Ultra also features an 8-inch OLED tablet screen that is described as crisper and brighter than previous models, with an anti-reflective coating for improved outdoor visibility.

For photography, the Ultra includes a 200-megapixel main rear camera and a new 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, which is noted for capturing brighter and more detailed photos, particularly in lower light. The phone runs on One UI 9, based on Android 17, and is expected to receive Android and security updates until 31 July 2033.
