Danish bank Saxo Bank has announced a new partnership with nine global athletes, including Formula 1 driver Lando Norris and footballer Gareth Bale. The initiative, announced on Monday, will explore the mindsets and habits of these current and former athletes to understand how their principles might apply to successful investing.
The group of athletes also features footballers Thibaut Courtois and Rasmus Hojlund, tennis players Aryna Sabalenka and Stan Wawrinka, speed skater Jutta Leerdam, judo fighter Teddy Riner, and chess champion Magnus Carlsen.
Daniel Belfer, the bank's chief, stated that athletes and investors share qualities such as ambition, discipline, and a long-term mindset. He added that the bank aims to explore what investors can learn from individuals who have mastered their craft.
This partnership marks a new initiative for Saxo Bank, which was acquired in two stages this year by Swiss private bank J. Safra Sarasin.
