Scheffler leads St Jude Championship by two strokes

World number one Scottie Scheffler holds a two-stroke lead going into the final round of the St Jude Championship, aiming for his first win since January.

World number one Scottie Scheffler will begin the final round of the St Jude Championship with a two-stroke lead. Scheffler, 30, carded a two-under 68 on Saturday, bringing his overall score to 13 under par.

American compatriot Sam Burns and South Korea's Im Sung-jae are tied for second place at 11 under. Burns achieved a bogey-free 62 to move into contention in the FedEx Cup play-off opener.

England's Tommy Fleetwood, the current FedEx Cup champion, is three strokes further back at eight under, alongside Jake Knapp. Scheffler and Burns, who are close friends, will form the final pairing for Sunday's round.

Six-time major winner Rory McIlroy and 2013 US Open champion Justin Rose both struggled on the 18th hole, finishing the day well off the pace at six over par.
