The Code of Practice for Scientific Advisory Committees (CoPSAC) has been updated to incorporate changes in legislation and guidance. Revisions specifically address paragraphs on independence, diversity and inclusion, and transparency.
Guidance on making public appointments to scientific advisory committees also requires an update. Those responsible for appointments are advised to contact the Cabinet Office Public Appointments Policy Team (PAPT) for current advice.
Additionally, a map of scientific advisory committees (SACs) and arm’s-length bodies (ALBs), originally published in 2024, has been updated. This map aims to represent the SACs and ALBs that provide science and evidence advice to the government.
