  • Scott McTominay's ablation procedure was a 'complete success'.
  • He is expected to rest for two weeks before resuming training this month.

Napoli has announced that Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay's heart surgery "was a complete success". The club expects the 29-year-old to resume training later this month.

The ablation procedure, which took place at Spire Manchester Hospital on Tuesday morning, was performed after a mild benign arrhythmia was discovered. McTominay was substituted during Napoli's 2-1 Serie A defeat by Como on 30 August, which led to the corrective treatment.

Napoli confirmed that McTominay will rest for two weeks before returning to training. The former Manchester United player had previously posted on Instagram, stating: "See you soon Napoli. I won't take long."
