The Scottish Highlands has emerged as the top road trip destination for UK adults, according to a study conducted by USA holiday specialist Ocean Florida. The survey of 2,000 adults found that 31% are keen to explore Scotland's winding roads.
Despite celebrating its centenary, the iconic Route 66 in the USA ranked second, with 28% of respondents listing it as their preferred road trip. Australia's Great Ocean Road secured the third position.
Other findings from the study indicate that 56% of Brits believe some of the best family memories are created on road trips. Stopping at roadside attractions was identified as a primary reason for embarking on such journeys.
