The Seattle Seahawks secured a 13-10 victory over the New England Patriots on Wednesday night in a Super Bowl rematch. Backup quarterback Drew Lock led two late scoring drives, and the Seahawks defence intercepted Patriots quarterback Drake Maye three times in the fourth quarter.
Seattle's starting quarterback, Sam Darnold, left the game on the opening drive due to a hip injury. The Seahawks were held to a single field goal through the first three quarters as Lock and the offence initially struggled.
The Patriots had led 10-0, but costly interceptions by Maye shifted the momentum. Seattle tied the game after Lock connected with Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 45-yard pass following an interception by Nehemiah Pritchett. Julian Love then intercepted Maye on the subsequent drive, allowing Jason Myers to kick a 26-yard field goal, giving Seattle a 13-10 lead.
Josh Jobe sealed the win for the Seahawks with a toe-tapping interception in the end zone during the final minute, preventing the Patriots from tying or taking the lead.
