Manchester City's attacking options have taken a hit with Antoine Semenyo ruled out for eight weeks due to a knee injury. The Ghana forward limped off during Saturday's match against Ipswich.
Adding to manager Enzo Maresca's concerns, star striker Erling Haaland is a doubt for Tuesday's Champions League fixture at home to AEK Athens after suffering a foot injury. Maresca has indicated he will make changes to the squad as City aims to recover from a recent loss to Paris Saint-Germain.
While Semenyo would have been a natural replacement for Haaland, other players like Phil Foden and Iliman Ndiaye could be deployed. Maresca acknowledged the difficulty of replacing Haaland but stated the team would "try and to find new solutions."
The club is navigating a demanding schedule of seven games in 21 days this October, with several players having also participated in international commitments. Maresca noted that despite efforts to manage player fitness, injuries like Semenyo's can occur unexpectedly.
