Serie A is preparing for its new season with a number of significant managerial changes across the league. Milan, Napoli, and Atalanta have all appointed new head coaches, with Ruben Amorim taking the helm at Milan, Massimiliano Allegri moving to Napoli, and Maurizio Sarri joining Atalanta.
Inter Milan, who finished 11 points clear in their first season under Cristian Chivu, appear well-positioned to defend their Serie A title. No team has successfully defended the title this decade, but Inter's strong performance last season suggests they could be the first.
Milan made a club-record signing, spending €74m to acquire Gonçalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain. Ramos, who has not started regularly at club level for three years, is seen as a gamble with potential for significant rewards. Como also made a notable transfer, paying €60m to reclaim Nico Paz after Real Madrid triggered a buy-back clause.
Juventus, despite a reported €41m fee for Randal Kolo Muani, have also made other strategic signings, including centre-back Jhon Lucumí. Roma will aim to progress in their second season under Gian Piero Gasperini, while Como, who finished fourth last season, have strengthened their defence with Trevoh Chalobah.
