Seven areas across south and east England, alongside the entirety of Wales, are officially experiencing drought conditions. This follows last month being recorded as the driest on record.

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is reportedly considering relocating its hydrangea collection from Surrey to Greater Manchester and North Yorkshire. This move highlights geographical differences in exposure to global heating.

The water industry has pledged to construct 10 new major reservoirs, with two in the dry east of England prioritised. This comes after three decades without major reservoir additions.
