Several new cruise ships have launched in 2026, with more expected to debut by the end of the year. Norwegian Luna, the latest Norwegian Cruise Line vessel, began its Caribbean sailings from Miami in March 2026. This fourth Prima class ship has a capacity for 3,550 passengers and features a hybrid waterslide rollercoaster.
Royal Caribbean's Legend of the Seas, described as the world's largest cruise ship, made its debut in the Mediterranean this summer, offering seven-night cruises from Barcelona and Rome. It can accommodate 5,610 passengers and includes the largest waterpark at sea.
Disney Adventure, the eighth ship in the Disney fleet, launched in March 2026 from its homeport in Singapore, offering cruises around Asia. Regent Seven Seas Prestige is set to launch in December 2026, with its maiden voyage from Barcelona to Miami scheduled for 13 December 2026. MSC World Asia, another new vessel, completed its sea trials in September 2026 and is also scheduled for a December 2026 launch, with its maiden voyage departing from Barcelona on 4 December 2026.
Other new ships launched this year include Explora III from Explora Journeys and Viking Mira from Viking Cruises. Tui Aria, a new river cruise ship, also launched in March 2026.
