A severe weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for large parts of the UK as a low-pressure system brings heavy rain and gusty winds.
The warning covers much of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, with the heaviest rainfall expected in western areas. In England, the affected regions include the northwest, north Midlands, and Yorkshire, while Scotland's western Highlands are also forecast to be hit hard.
In Wales, the south coast is expected to experience heavy rain, while Northern Ireland will see strong winds and heavy downpours. The Met Office warns that the severe weather may cause disruption to travel, including road closures and flight delays.
The organisation has advised residents in affected areas to take precautions to stay safe during the storm. This includes checking on vulnerable neighbours and ensuring phone lines are clear for emergency services.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: 'We urge people to plan ahead, check the latest forecast, and be prepared for potential disruption.'
