Miranda, 30, a survivor of sexual abuse, is working to relearn how to have healthy sex with her partner, Ishan, also 30. She describes their intimacy and love as being present immediately, but their sex life has been complicated by her past experiences.
Miranda has recently begun a new form of talking therapy specifically for individuals with a history of sexual abuse. She noted that her first session was impactful, leading her to request a temporary break from sexual intimacy with Ishan, who she states is always understanding.
Ishan has also faced challenges, including overthinking during sex, which has affected his ability to get an erection. He recently visited a doctor to obtain medication for erectile dysfunction, though they have also had sex without it. He expressed that he does not feel disappointed by Miranda's need for time off from intimacy, focusing instead on helping her reconnect with her body.
