Shaun Edwards, a highly-regarded defence coach, is set to join Argentina's coaching staff from November, bolstering their bid for next year's Rugby World Cup in Australia. Edwards will join Felipe Contepomi’s team of assistants.
Edwards is currently serving in a short-term consultancy role with England’s Red Roses, which is due to conclude at the end of the WXV Global Series this month. He previously secured seven Six Nations successes across his spells with France and Wales.
Mario Ledesma, who coached the Pumas from 2018 to 2022, has also joined the backroom team as forwards coach. Edwards expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m thrilled to be joining Felipe Contepomi, his coaching staff, and the Argentinian team at the end of this month and through to next year’s World Cup in Australia.”
