Sheffield United owners' company wound up by High Court

A company belonging to Sheffield United's co-chairmen has been wound up by the High Court, following legal action by the club's former owners.

  • COH Sports, led by Steven Rosen and Helmy Eltoukhy, was wound up by the High Court.
  • United World, Sheffield United's former owners, brought the legal action.
  • Sheffield United could face a 12-point deduction if EFL ownership regulations were breached.

A business belonging to Sheffield United's co-chairmen, COH Sports, has been wound up by the High Court. The legal action against COH Sports was initiated by United World, the Championship side's former owners.

American co-chairmen Steven Rosen and Helmy Eltoukhy lead COH Sports, which completed its acquisition of Sheffield United in December 2024. United World, owned by Prince Abdullah bin Mosa'ad, submitted the petition last month, claiming it is owed more than £35 million from the sale.

The matter was concluded on Wednesday at London's specialist Insolvency and Companies Court (ICC), where Judge Paul Greenwood granted a compulsory order. Sheffield United could face a 12-point deduction if the English Football League determines that ownership regulations were breached.

The club stated in June that Delaware-based 1919 Partners represents its parent business and "sits at the centre of the ownership structure."
