The UK is bracing itself for potentially catastrophic weather conditions, with six areas under severe red alert warnings from the Met Office. Heavy rain and strong winds, forecast to hit the country over the next 24 hours, pose a significant danger to life in these regions.
The affected areas include parts of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, where residents are advised to take immediate action to ensure their safety:
