Skywell UK exit leaves BE11 owners facing warranty and repair uncertainty

Chinese car brand Skywell has effectively exited the UK market after its sole importer, Innovation Automotive, ceased operations in June 2026, leaving owners of the BE11 electric SUV with uncertain warranty and after-sales support.

  • Innovation Automotive, the UK importer for Skywell, ceased operations in June 2026.
  • Skywell BE11 owners face uncertainty regarding warranty claims and repairs.
  • Skywell is seeking a new UK distributor to manage parts and warranty administration.

Owners of the Skywell BE11 electric SUV are facing uncertainty regarding their warranties and after-sales support following the effective exit of the Chinese car brand from the UK market. Innovation Automotive, the only company importing Skywell cars to the UK, announced in June 2026 that it was no longer active.

Skywell, which launched in the UK in 2024, did not have its own UK base, relying instead on Innovation Automotive. The brand's only model, the BE11, saw fewer than 150 registrations during its two years of availability in the UK.

Skywell is currently seeking a new distributor to sell its cars in the UK and hopes to transfer its stock of parts and warranty administration responsibility to this company. However, there is currently no way for owners to claim through the offered warranty, and obtaining repairs for the BE11 is likely to become more difficult.

The collapse of Innovation Automotive was unexpected, especially as sales of an updated Skywell BE11 model had only commenced in early 2026. The brand's core markets remain in the Middle East.

What this means for you: If you own a Skywell BE11, you may find it harder to claim on your warranty or get repairs. Insurance premiums for the BE11 could also rise due to increased uncertainty for insurers and potential difficulties in sourcing parts.
