Sombr achieved a career milestone by headlining a European festival for the first time at Sziget Festival. The New Yorker, Shane Boose, topped a European festival bill for the first time, a performance that also marked his debut at a festival on the continent.
Before his set, Sombr was joined by Zara Larsson and some of her dancers, who had performed on the same stage earlier. The pair toasted with red cocktails before Sombr began his performance, delivering heartfelt thanks to the Hungarian people.
Sombr closed his set with an extended version of 'Back To Friends' and played '12 To 12' twice, promising to return to the festival annually. Elsewhere on day one, alt-R&B innovator Dijon performed a late-night set on the Revolut Stage, showcasing a blend of acoustic crooning, '80s balladry, rap, and synths.
Other acts included Irish singer-songwriter and DJ Jazzy at the Yettel Colosseum, and Tasmanian metal act Kim Dracula, who performed a mix of deathcore, free jazz, gospel, and pop-rap. Perturbator also performed at the Buzz Stage.
