Somerset Thump Glamorgan to Go Top of County Championship Division One

Somerset have surged to the top of the Rothesay County Championship Division One table after a dominant innings and 64-run victory over Glamorgan. The win, achieved inside three days at the Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton, saw Somerset collect 23 points.

Left-arm spinner Jack Leach finished with 3-46, while seamers Craig Overton and Lewis Gregory also claimed three wickets each, with figures of 3-29 and 3-68 respectively. This bowling effort restricted Glamorgan to 183 all out in their second innings.

Glamorgan's Asa Tribe top-scored with 49, and Sean Dickson added 47, but the Welsh county was comprehensively outplayed. Glamorgan secured three points from the match, and their challenge for the title appears to be fading.

Somerset's performance heaps pressure on rivals Nottinghamshire and Warwickshire, setting the stage for what is described as a thrilling finale to the title race.
