Southampton residents face a week of changeable weather with temperatures reaching 15°C but frequent showers expected from midweek onwards, the Met Office has forecast.
The Hampshire city will see settled conditions early in the week, though isolated showers remain possible. More widespread rain is likely as the week progresses, accompanied by stronger winds of up to 25mph during unsettled periods. Daily highs will range between 12-15°C, with overnight temperatures dropping to 6-9°C.
The mixed picture extends across Britain. Scotland and Northern Ireland will face more frequent rainfall and cooler conditions, with possible hill snow in the Scottish Highlands. Wales and Southwest England will see sunshine and showers, whilst Northern England and the Midlands expect similar conditions to Southampton.
No severe weather warnings are currently in force for Southampton, though the Met Office advises residents to carry waterproof clothing, particularly later in the week. Drivers should exercise caution during heavier downpours, with surfaces potentially becoming slippery.
The changeable conditions are typical for this time of year as Britain transitions between seasons. Whilst no extreme weather is forecast for Southampton, the unpredictable nature of British weather means conditions can shift rapidly. The Met Office will continue monitoring and updating forecasts as required.
