Southport killer Axel Rudakubana, 19, has been charged with four offences allegedly committed while he was in HMP Belmarsh. Police said the charges include assault on an emergency worker and possession of a weapon.
The alleged offences took place over six months, from May to October 2025, according to police. Rudakubana is accused of two counts of assault on an emergency worker, attempted grievous bodily harm, and unauthorised possession of an offensive weapon in prison.
Rudakubana was sentenced to 52 years in prison in January 2025 for the murder of three children and injuring 10 others in July 2024. He was transferred from HMP Belmarsh to Broadmoor, a high-security psychiatric hospital, on 23 July.
He is due to appear remotely at Westminster Magistrates' Court on 11 September.
