The latest instalment, 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day', has been released today, 29 July 2026. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film is being lauded as the best Tom Holland Spider-Man movie and the strongest Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film of the decade.
The story picks up five years after Peter Parker (Tom Holland) used a spell that caused everyone to forget his existence. Living a solitary life, Peter develops organic webbing and heightened senses due to a mutation in his powers. He investigates a series of crimes linked to a mysterious figure portrayed by Sadie Sink.
The film explores Peter Parker as an adult, dealing with loneliness and the consequences of his actions. It features action sequences focused on local crime in New York, with Spider-Man teaming up with The Punisher (Jon Bernthal).
Tom Holland reportedly wanted a strong reason to return to the character, and this film presents a darker portrayal of Spider-Man. Zendaya reprises her role as a memory-wiped MJ, while Mark Ruffalo appears as Bruce Banner/Hulk for exposition. Tramell Tillman also features as the head of Damage Control.
