Gootopia, a London-based slime business co-owned by broadcaster Steph McGovern, has reported a return to profitability in its latest annual report. The company recorded a £16,000 surplus in its profit and loss account for 2025, a turnaround from a £22,000 deficit in the preceding year.
Founded in 2018, Gootopia has expanded significantly, growing from one location to a dozen sites across the UK, including Bristol, Brixton, and Broadstairs. McGovern, an early investor, has overseen this expansion and has previously discussed the company's challenges, such as increases in business rates, minimum wage, and national insurance.
The firm's growth has been supported by a partnership with Hamleys, hosting events at its Regent Street flagship store and Westfield shopping centre site. Gootopia has also launched a mobile slime party service and introduced adult-focused "slime and wine" nights.
