Strictly Come Dancing contestant Cach Mercer made a social media gaffe by revealing he had advanced to the next stage of the competition before the pre-recorded results show was broadcast. The Love Island winner and TikTok star, 25, posted a photo from his dressing room with the caption: “Made it through to another week, praise God.”
Mercer, partnered with Maddie Ingoldsby, 21, had performed a couple’s choice routine on Saturday, 10 October, earning a score of 31 and placing them joint second on the leaderboard. Fans pointed out that the results show had not yet aired, leading Mercer to delete the post.
The results show for week three saw Melanie Walters and Aljaž Škorjanec compete against Shaun Wright-Phillips and Alexis Warr in the dance off. Judges Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, and Anton Du Beke voted to save Wright-Phillips, while Motsi Mabuse opted for Walters.
Next week's show will feature an Icons theme, with Mercer planning to perform a foxtrot inspired by Frank Sinatra. Strictly Come Dancing is scheduled to continue on Saturday, 17 October, at 6:15 pm on BBC One.
