On Saturday, heavy and potentially torrential thundery showers are forecast for England and Wales, especially in the southern half. Northern parts of England may see showers merge into longer spells of rain during the afternoon. Some areas of the Midlands and northern England are at risk of flash flooding due to recent downpours.
Sunday may begin dry for many, but a zone of heavy and thundery showers is expected to sweep across the country from the west in the afternoon. Monday will see scattered showers developing more widely, though these are expected to be less intense than on previous days.
Strong winds are also forecast, particularly in southern England and Wales. Gusts of 40 to 50mph are expected on Saturday across southern counties of England, Wales, and the Channel Islands. Monday will be blustery across the UK, with southern areas seeing gusts of 30-40mph. Temperatures will be around 15 to 22 Celsius throughout the weekend.
