A walker discovered a blue Kia Sportage blocking the Wales Coast Path on Saturday morning, 12 September 2026. Canberk Beker, 31, found the SUV wedged between a concrete fence post and a bench between Mumbles and Langland Bay.

Mr Beker, from Langland, Swansea, reported that the car completely covered the path and that the driver's seat was laid down, suggesting an attempt to exit through the boot. He also noted a broken bench about 10 feet further along the path, which he believed the driver had damaged before getting stuck.

Mumbles councillor Will Thomas said the incident occurred on Friday night and that similar events had happened twice before. He has emailed council officers about installing a gate or bollard at the end of the path. The car has since been removed.
