Swansea City has completed the signing of Scotland international Ross Stewart on a three-year deal. Stewart, a former Southampton player, joins as a free agent and will be part of Swansea's senior attacking options alongside Zan Vipotnik and Adam Idah for the 2026-27 season.
Head coach Vitor Matos stated that Stewart was not signed to replace Vipotnik, despite transfer interest in the Slovenia international. Matos believes Swansea City can effectively operate with three senior strikers, citing the need for squad depth across various competitions.
Stewart, 30, will not be available for Swansea's EFL Cup tie against Birmingham City on Saturday due to a lack of pre-season training. Vipotnik, 24, is also short of full fitness due to a quad problem, meaning Idah, 25, is likely to start up front against Birmingham City.
