Taylor Swift has released four new songs, including the single "Patient Zero," as part of The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore. This deluxe version of her album The Life of a Showgirl, originally released on October 3, 2025, became available at midnight US Eastern Daylight Time (0400 GMT) on Friday.
The new tracks are "Patient Zero," "Cleveland!," "Pink Clouding," and "Babylon." "Patient Zero" is described as being about a toxic relationship, with Swift singing, "If you're sick of him, I've got you. I was patient zero." The song "Cleveland!" references the hometown of her husband, Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce, whom she married in July after a three-year romance.
A music video for "Patient Zero" is scheduled to premiere on Sunday during MTV's Video Music Awards. The video features actors Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson. At the awards, Swift will also receive the Inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors, which will make her the most awarded artist in the show's history.
Swift stated on Instagram that the new songs were "born out of pure gratitude" for the fan reception to The Life of a Showgirl. The original album broke several records upon its release in October 2025, including becoming the first album where all 12 of its songs simultaneously landed in the Billboard top 12, and setting a modern music era sales record for its first week.
