Taylor Swift's new music video for her upcoming single 'Patient Zero' will premiere at the MTV VMAs 2026 this Sunday, September 27. The pop star also directed the dramatic visuals, which feature actors Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell.
Swift shared a snippet of the video today, September 24, showing her with Johnson and Farrell, as well as scenes of grieving characters and Johnson looking distressed. The cinematography for the video was handled by Academy Award-winner Emmanuel Lubezki.
'Patient Zero' is set to be released tomorrow, September 25, as part of an extended 'Encore' edition of her 2025 album, 'The Life Of A Showgirl'. The full video will debut at the VMAs, where Swift is also scheduled to receive the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors.
The ceremony will be simulcast on MTV and stream on Paramount+ (Premium) in the US, becoming available globally on Paramount+ and MTV the following day, Monday, September 28.
