This achievement places them fifth in the medal table, one position higher than their performance in Birmingham four years prior, and with the same number of gold medals.
The overall medal haul makes Glasgow 2026 Scotland's third best ever Commonwealth Games by total medals. While the total and gold tallies are lower than Glasgow 2014, the 2026 Games featured a streamlined sports programme with fewer gold medals available (215 compared to 261 in 2014) and a smaller Team Scotland contingent of 177 athletes.
Notable successes included athletics achieving their second biggest haul in 44 years, and gymnastics celebrating a first-ever men's all-around gold. Team Scotland also secured an all-time best of 14 Para-sport medals. First team sport medals were earned in 3x3 basketball, alongside a first-ever podium finish in women's boxing.
Para-cyclist Neil Fachie claimed two golds, bringing his total to seven and making him Scotland's most decorated Games athlete by gold medals. Swimmer Duncan Scott added two medals, increasing his overall tally to 14. Angharad Evans was a standout performer with two individual golds and two relay medals in swimming.
