A 16-year-old girl has died following a collision involving a pedestrian and a car near Highgate School in north London. Emergency services were called to North Road, Highgate, at around 08:15 BST.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the girl was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from officers.
The driver of the car, a 68-year-old man, remained at the scene and has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. Road closures are currently in place, and the public is advised to avoid the area.
