Teenage striker Brian Madjo made a dream debut for Aston Villa on Wednesday, scoring in the UEFA Super Cup against Paris St-Germain. The 17-year-old's goal ended an eight-month period of frustration, as he finally got the chance to play competitive football after joining Villa from Metz in January.
Villa ultimately lost the match 2-1 to Paris St-Germain in Salzburg. Madjo's impressive impact came after the club successfully appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) at the start of August, allowing them to register the player after a FIFA ban.
Boss Unai Emery praised Madjo's commitment and discipline, noting his four pre-season goals. The young forward's availability offers Emery a new option ahead of the Premier League season opener against Brighton on 23 August.
