Teenager arrested after fatal collision involving cyclist in Worcester

A teenage girl has been arrested following a fatal collision between a car and a cyclist in Worcester on Friday night. A man in his 60s died at the scene.

A teenage girl has been arrested following a fatal collision involving a car and a cyclist in Worcester on Friday night. The incident, which occurred at approximately 22:15 BST on the A4440 Swinesherd Way, resulted in the death of a man in his 60s.

West Mercia Police stated that the cyclist sustained serious injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene. The driver of the white Suzuki Swift, a 17-year-old girl, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and is currently assisting police with inquiries.

The collision happened as the Suzuki was travelling along the A4440 from the junction of Whittington Road onto Swinesherd Way, towards the junction of the A44. Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have seen the vehicles or have dashcam footage, to contact them.
